CIBC's Miracle Day
Wednesday December 2nd is the 25th Anniversary of CIBC's Miracle Day. Every year Investment Advisors contribute commissions to various local charities. In 2008 the Owen Sound branch donated to the following charities: The Rotary Clubs' of Owen Sound, Collingwood, and Thornbury-Clarksburg, Owen Sound Knights of Columbus, Salvations Army and the Georgian Bay Children's Choir.
'Festival of Northern Lights Gala'
The gala will be held on board the Chi Cheemaun on Friday December 4th. The social hour with hors d'oeuvres will begin at 6:00 p.m. with dinner being served at 7:00. The menu will consist of caesar or spinach salad, roast beef or salmon fillet, mini roasted potatoes and mixed bean medley.
Dessert will be a choice of apple dumpling or cheese cake.
Wine will be provided in the cost of the dinner. Coffee or tea will also be available.
Dancing to the music of Fred Parsons Trio will follow with an open bar.

The Grey Bruce Health Unit and The City of Owen Sound present...
"Keeping Pace with the Torch"
All residents of Grey Bruce are invited to accept the challenge to "Keep Pace with the Torch" by walking a portion of the Olympic Torch Relay route between October 30th, 2009 and February 12th, 2010. While the entire torch route covers a distance of 45,000 km participants are asked to form teams of five and cover 1/10 of the distance by the time the torch travels throughout Canada and arrives back in Vancouver for the start of the Olympics. The Owen Sound ProTeam Northstars Jr. B Lacrosse Club is proud to present it's next big fundraiser! The Montreal Ice Ballet, under the direction of Mr. Jean Pierre Boulais, will perform the spectacular "Zigra's Ice Kingdom" on Saturday December 5th at 2pm at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre in Owen Sound. This is a fundraiser event for the new Owen Sound Recreation Centre as well as the Northstars. Performances by members of the Owen Sound Skating Club have been integrated into the show, involving up to 30 plus skaters! Tickets are available now from the Attack Box Office.
